Here's where you can learn a little bit more about our staff, what motivates them, what their stories are--all in their own words!

About Us

Talents Coffee Studio first opened its doors in June, 2004. The original vision for Talents Coffee Studio was that it would be a place where no matter where one is from, one's political affiliation, socio-economic status, race, or religious denomination, one could walk through the doors and feel at home. Talents is also a live music venue for all styles of music; and a showcase for local visual artists of all mediums. Talents is not just a "coffee shop." Talents is a venue that supports the arts, community, & family. Talents also has a full breakfast & lunch menu, and is open Monday through Friday, 6am - 5pm, 6am - 3pm, Saturday morning, re-opening at 6pm for Saturday night's entertainment. Talents got into the catering business in December of 2005, & we are slowly making a name for ourselves. Most of our regular customers would tell you that, while our food & beverages are top-notch, it's the community, conversation, & atmosphere that separate our little corner of the world from other establishments.

We here at Talents endeavor daily to serve the freshest & tastiest soups, sandwiches, deserts, & beverages with our own unique twists. We love serving the community...so much so that we affectionately refer to our regular customers as "The Caffia," or "Caffeinated Mafia." Our baked goods & deserts come from local bakeries & some independent local bakers. We make all of our soups from scratch, onsite, as well as our salsa, & many of our sauces. Our coffee vendor, "Kickin' Coffee," deals in only "Fair Trade" coffee beans. "Fair Trade" means the beans are not grown, harvested, or roasted using "slave" labor. Granted, it costs more, but in our eyes, it is the only way to go. Talents' coffee beans are grown in several countries, roasted in Kentucky, and distributed by "Kickin' Coffee," who supplies some of finest restaurants in Nashville.

As of October, 2007, Talents is a partnership made up of Tim & Ana Anderson and Robert & Kristi Mycko. Robert & Tim met at a writer's night in the spring of 2006, only to find that they both lived in Springfield. Robert, who is an accomplished singer/songwriter, who moved himself and his family to the area to continue to pursue a career in music, came to Talents a couple of times to play, & even more often just to hang & drink coffee. Robert, Kristi, Ana, & Tim began to discuss the possibilities of a partnership in August of 2007. It was apparent, early on; that Kristi & Robert had similar vision for the role that Talents played in the community...and the rest...as they say...is history. Robert has also joined Tim, Joe Dile, & Larry Murov, as a member of the "8th Avenue Blues Revue."

Robert and Kristi Mycko have been married for 7 years. Together, the couple has three children Jessica 17, Craig 16, and Todd, 13. The family moved to Springfield last January when Robert's music career started taking off. Robert spent a lot of time on the road playing show for the USO, opening up for Heartland, and performing on the World Famous Midnight Jamboree. Talents was the first place in Springfield the Mycko's came to when arriving in town, and when Robert wasn't on the road it was a peaceful sanctuary to unwind. The Mycko's loved how the Talents staff created a family environment that promoted Church and wholesome values. The Couple with their children are very happy to be partners with Tim and Ana, and allowed to keep the tradition of Talents alive.
